IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
There are special components used in this equipment which are important for safety. These parts are indicated
by the " " mark on the schematic diagram and the replacement parts list. It is essential that these critical parts
should be replaced with manufacturer's specified parts to prevent X-radiation, shock, fire, or other hazards.

About Lead Free Solder (PbF)
Distribution of PbF PCB:
PCBs (manufactured) using lead free solder (PbF) will have a stamp on the PCB.

Caution:
Lead free solder has a higher melting point than standard solder. Typically the melting points is 35 °C 40 °C
(95 °F 104 °F) higher. Please use a soldering iron with temperature control and adjust it to 360 °C 370 °C
(680 °F 698 °F). In case of using high temperature soldering iron, please be careful not to heat too long.
Lead free solder will tend to splash when heated too high (600 °C / 1112 °F).
Lead free solder (Sn - 3.0Ag 0.5Cu) or equivalents are recommended on repairing our lead free soldered PCB.

PRECAUTIONS FOR HANDLING THE RAIN WASH COATING FRONT COVER
· The surface of the front cover for this product has been treated with rain wash coating.
· The rain wash coating has the ability to reduce the formation of water drops on the surface of the front
cover, but this does not imply the prevention or reduction of water drop formation in all installation
environments. Similarly, effectiveness varies depending on the way that rain falls, thus effectiveness in
reducing rain drop formation is not guaranteed for all types of rain.
· The effectiveness of the rain wash coating gradually deteriorates. There are cases in which the
lifespan of the rain wash coating may be accelerated due to deterioration caused by the installation
environment. For example, early coating detachment may occur in places where sand is blown by
strong winds, places where conditions cause physical chipping of the coating, places near the coast
where strong salts adhere to the coating, or places where chemical agents such as organic solvents
are drifting in the atmosphere. Avoid usage in such areas.
· Rain wash effectiveness may be reduced at the following types of installation sites:
Places where oil film such as from oily smoke adheres to the rain wash coating.
Places where chemicals with water-shedding properties are drifting in the air.
· Avoid touching the rain wash coating front cover surface with your hands, as the skin oils or other oils
and chemicals may become attached to the coating, causing damage to the effectiveness.
· When cleaning the dome cover, hose or spray fresh water that is not containing lubricant agent or
silicon substances and wash away adherents such as grain of sand. If dirt is hard to remove, use a
sponge soaked into the fresh water mentioned above and wipe off.
· Do not wipe the cover with a dry cloth.
(Using dry cloth may spread oil constituent adhered to the surface, and it may result in damaging the
rain wash coating.)
· If dirt cannot be wiped off with a damp cloth, use a neutral detergent and sufficiently rinse off the
detergent.
· Do not use organic solvent such as benzine and thinner.
· Before using a spray, abandon a few sprays to eliminate impurities.
· The mark of light-shielding parts left inside the dome or dirt on the dorm cover may influence the
reflection of infrared rays.
Therefore, remove those marks and dirt using cleaning paper.
* Improper cleaning of the dome cover may cause the rain wash coating to become less effective. In this
case, in order to have effective rain wash coating, a new dome cover must be purchased to replace
the existing dome cover.

Be sure to use the 2P power cable (accessory) provided with this product.
Be sure to fully insert the 2P power cable (accessory) into the 12 V DC power supply
terminal. Otherwise, it may damage the camera or cause malfunction.
When installing the camera, make sure that excessive force is not applied to the power cable.
Be sure to use an AC adaptor compliant with the Specifications (written in the indication label
on the bottom side of this unit) regarding power source and power consumption.

Input impedance: Approx. 2 k (unbalanced)
Recommended cable length: Less than 1 m {3.28 feet} (for microphone input)
Less than 10 m {32.8 feet} (for line input)
Recommended microphone: Plug-in power type (locally procured)
Supply voltage: 2.5 V ±0.5 V
Recommended sensitivity of microphone: 48 dB ±3 dB (0 dB=1 V/Pa,1 kHz)
Input level for the line input: Approx. 10 dBV

r Audio output cable (black)
Connect an external speaker* using a stereo mini plug (ø3.5 mm). (Audio output is monaural.)
Output impedance : Approx. 600 (unbalanced)
Recommended cable length : Less than 10 m {32.8 feet} *Use a powered speaker.
Output level : 20 dBV

Note:
The audio output can be switched to the monitor output. Refer to the "Operating Instructions" on the
provided CD-ROM for descriptions of how to switch the output.

IMPORTANT:
Connect/disconnect the audio cables and turn on the power of the camera after turning off
the power of the audio output devices. Otherwise, loud noise may be heard from the speaker.
Make sure that the stereo mini plug is connected to this cable. When a monaural mini plug is
connected, audio may not be heard.
When connecting a monaural speaker with amplifier, use a locally procured conversion cable
(mono-stereo).

IMPORTANT:
Install external devices so that they do not exceed the rating of the network camera.
When using the EXT I/O terminals as the output terminals, ensure they do not cause signal
collision with external signals.

y MONITOR OUT terminal (factory shipment: NTSC monitor)
Used to connect a monitor used for adjustments during installation or when performing service.

IMPORTANT:
The adjustment monitor is used for checking the adjustment of the angular field of view when
installing the camera or when servicing. It is not provided for recording/monitoring use.
Depending on the monitor, some characters (camera title, preset ID, etc.) may not be dis-
played on the screen.

When connecting to a network using a PoE hub
Before starting the installation, check the entire system configuration. The following illustration gives
a wiring example of how to connect the camera to the network via a PoE device (hub).

Use an Ethernet cable (category
Microphone Adjustment monitor
5e or better, cross) when directly
connecting the camera to a PC.

IMPORTANT:
Use a switching hub or a router which is compliant with 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX.
If a PoE hub is not used, each network camera must be connected to a 12 V DC power
supply.
When using 12 V DC, power supply from a PoE hub or router is not required.

q INITIAL SET button (Initializing / NTSC PAL switch button)
Follow the steps below to initialize the network camera.
Turn off the power of the camera. When using a PoE hub, disconnect the Ethernet cable from
the camera. When using an external power supply, disconnect the 2P power cable (accessory)
from the 12 V DC power supply terminal.
Turn on the power of the camera while pressing the INITIAL SET button, and make sure to
release the button after approximately 15 seconds. In about 2 minutes later, the camera will
start up and the settings including the network settings will be initialized. Retry if the camera
does not start up normally.

IMPORTANT:
When the camera is initialized, the settings including the network settings will be initialized.
Before initializing the settings, it is recommended to write down the settings in advance.
Do not turn off the power of the camera during the process of initialization. Otherwise, it may
fail to initialize and may cause malfunction.
When the INITIAL SET button is pressed (less than 1 second) to switch the output signal of the
MONITOR OUT terminal, the MONITOR OUT terminal can be switched for the NTSC monitor/
PAL monitor.
