Introduction to DEI RPG
Second Edition (May 1980)

This is a major revision of, and obsoletes, SC21-7803-0. Changes or additions to
the text and illustrations are indicated by a vertical line to the left of the change
or addition, except Chapters 5 and 6. Chapters 5 and 6 have been revised extensively
to support changes to the Source Entry program. You should read these two
chapters in their entirety.

This edition applies to release 1, modification 0 of the IBM 5280 DEjRPG
(Program 5708-DE1), and to all subsequent releases and modifications until
otherwise indicated in new editions or technical newsletters.

Changes are periodically made to the information herein; these changes will be
reported in technical newsletters or in new editions of this publication.

Use this publication only for the purposes stated in the Preface.

This publication contains examples of data and reports used in daily business
operations. To illustrate them as completely as possible, the examples include the
names of individuals, companies, brands, and products. All of these names are
fictitious and any similarity to the names and addresses used by an actual
business enterprise is entirely coincidental.

It is possible that this material may contain reference to, or information about,
IBM products (machines and programs), programming, or services that are not
announced in your country. Such references or information must not be
construed to mean that IBM intends to announce such IBM products,
programming, or services in your country.
