Information about cable, connector or adapter : RS423 interface
RS423 interface Originally developed by : Copyright : Source : Category : All cables and connectors Connectors Computer Serial I/O Added to database : 2006-02-15 06:40:52 Description : RS423 is a unbalanced serial interface for the transmission of digital data. The EIA describes RS423 as a DTE to DCE interface only containing the electrical characteristics. Pinout : Pin | Name | Direction | Color | Description |
1 | see note | | | Tranceiver Voltage Range -6 to +6 v,Minimal Voltage at Receiver -0.2 or +0.2 , Speed VS Distance - 1 kbps @ 1200m (4000 ft) |
Note : The RS423 electrical characteristics make it clear that it is the supercedor of RS232. Since it's speeds are defined from 20 kbps (where RS232 stops) to 100 kbps. All signals are defined with A and B lines, where all the B lines are tied to a common ground.
