Solution: This phenomena known as Afterglow is normal. It is mostly noticeable when the room lighting is low. Due to the ability of the tube to hold a charge an Afterglow can be seen. This Afterglow duration depends on how fast the tube discharges. This phenomena will not harm the circuits, CRT, or shorten the life of the set. Caution: It is necessary to discharge this tube before handling. Please consult the Service Manual, under the heading Picture Tube Removal, for details on how to discharge this tube.
