Subject Change of the Boss and the Gear in the Fuser Unit
Model FS-6950DN, FS-6970DN l:
Topic
The shaft of the gear (boss) or the gear to drive the fuser unit might be damaged by the excessive loads caused by
foreign matters, which might cause a fuser jam. Therefore, the following changes were made in order to increase
the strength.
Content of Changes
The following parts in the fuser unit were changed.
1) FRAME FUSER LOW: The bottom shape of the boss was changed.
2) GEAR INPUT : The shape of the gear was changed.
Boss can be
damaged.
1. Bearing surface thickened by
0.5 mm
2.
Roundness (R0.3) applied to the
bottom shape of the boss
Rib heightened
by 1 mm
External diameter changed GEAR INPUT changed as the further
from 11 mm to 12 mm improvement to prevent the backlash of the boss
Thickness increased by 0.5 and the gear
mm (It will be changed after using up the old stock.)

In-Field modification by case No modification necessary
