This guide is not intended to be definitive, because different types and models of vehicles will require different installation work. The information given is for general guidance only. An end user should never attempt to install this car kit without professional assistance as the installation requires special tools and knowledge. NSE­5 is a handheld cellular phones for the pan­European GSM network. It has a dualband GSM/DCS1800 transceiver, providing 15 power levels with a maximum output power of 2W in GSM (Class 4). It also has 16 power levels with a maximum output power of 1W in DCS1800 (Class 1). The basic handportable package offers the user a standard battery pack and travel charger for charging from mains. Accessories and other options are listed in this chapter also. Figure 1. Use a pair of Tweezers to push the Slide Stopper Spring in the direction indicated. 11. Simulateously with step 10: Pull out the Slide past the End Stop ! note: Pull out straight ! Handling the Slide Assembly: ! DO NOT handle the Slide like this ! ALWAYS handle the slide like this. The Metal Slide is bent very easily when it is not protected by the phone. Bend open one side of the (plastic) Slide Cover and take out the Metal Slide ! DO NOT ! Hold the Metal Slide like this. The Metal Slide is bent very easily when it is not protected by the phone. Avoid bending of the Plungers at all times. ALWAYS Handle the Metal Slide like this. The Metal Slide can be held by the Targa Bow or by one of the Plungers. Fitting a Metal Slide onto a Slide Cover: Push the Metal Slide onto the snap on one side of the Slide Cover. Page 6 Push down the other side, but do not hit the middle snap. Bend open one side of the (plastic) Slide Cover and take out the Metal Slide ! DO NOT ! Hold the Metal Slide like this. The Metal Slide is bent very easily when it is not protected by the phone. Avoid bending of the Plungers at all times. ALWAYS Handle the Metal Slide like this. The Metal Slide can be held by the Targa Bow or by one of the Plungers. Fitting a Metal Slide onto a Slide Cover: Push the Metal Slide onto the snap on one side of the Slide Cover. Page 6 Push down the other side, but do not hit the middle snap. It provides rapid charging for the phone, a possibility to use HF­ operation and connections to the data­card and handset unit. The HF box can be connected directly to the Mobile holder MCC­1 via the external cable. Technical Summary The HFU­2 has connections to car battery, car ignition sense, car radio muting, antenna motor control, data­card, handset HSU­1, external speaker and microphone. The unit has a System­connector that provides an interface to the Mobile holder MCC­1 via the external cable. The unit consists of a rapid charger, HF­microphone­ and speaker amplifiers, interface to handset, ­ datacard and ­phone, voltage regulators and control circuit (microprocessor). The HFU­2 is always connected to the car battery. To save the car battery, HFU­2 goes in to the sleep mode if the car is not running and/or the phone is not connected. This troubleshooting instruction is divided following section. 1. Phone is totally dead 2. Flash programming doesn`t work 3. Power doesn`t stay on or the phone is jammed 4.
