Water under the vegetable drawers in a dual evaporator refrigerator means that the melted frost from the evaporator is not going down the drain correctly. Some things to look for are: Clogged or frozen drain line: Food or other forms of debris can get lodged in the drain line, causing the drain water to back up and overflow the trough under the evaporator. Using a stiff piece of wire, clear the drain tube and pour warm water down the drain to make sure it is clear. Incomplete defrosting of the evaporator: Excessive amounts of frost can cause water to flow in an incorrect pattern, missing the drain trough completely. Check for proper operation of the defrost cycle using Forced Defrost. Verify correct voltage to the defrost sensor. At the main PCB, voltage should read between 2.3VDC and 2.8VDC. Check the position of the defrost sensor. If it is attached to the evaporator inlet, move the sensor to the evaporator outlet. Check for proper operation of the bimetal. If defrost terminates prematurely, frost can build up, causing drain issues. Defrost heater clip out of place: Make sure that the clip at the bottom of the evaporator heater is inserted correctly into the drain opening. This allows for a transfer of heat to prevent freezing. A new Defrost heater drain clip is available to use if the original clip is missing or is too short. Follow the directions supplied with the clip. Part Number DA61-06796A CLIP-DRAIN EVAP REF Evaporator cover not aligned properly: If the evaporator cover is not installed completely, water may travel in an incorrect pattern. Check that all tape and insulation is in place, and then make sure the cover is completely seated all the way around before reinstalling screws. CAUTION: If the evaporator cover is hard to remove, there may be ice buildup attached to it. In these cases, initiate a Forced Defrost first. Do not try to force the cover off, as this could damage the insulation.
