KF Decade Resistance Boxes
Sold throughout the world to governments, educational authorities and industry
G uildline KF Series Decade Resistance Boxes have been
introduced as a complementary range to our Type RD
Boxes, where they find particular use in teaching
establishments and maintenance workshops.
Several types cover the range 0.1 ohm to 111.11 Megohms
with a combination of wirewound and High Stability Metal
Film resistors. Details of accuracies and current ratings are
given overleaf.
Since, all but the lowest two ranges have metal film resistors,
the useful frequency limit of these boxes is somewhere in the
range of 1-10 MHz, the limitation being the shunt capacitance
of about 20 pF at the input terminals.
Of very modest cost compared to other units, the KF series are
a welcome addition as development tools, and other
applications.
The 6 and 8 decade boxes include tapping points between
decades. The taps are brought out to the front panel and this
enables the unit to be used as a voltage divider with a ratio
which can be adjusted by the user.
KF Series provides a cost effective variable
resistance design for a wide range of applications.
