SUBJECT: Q504 High Voltage Output Failure

BACKGROUND: Under normal conditions, during mode switching, the monitor must operate in a free running state. However, during this state the PC's video card will output a low frequency, while the microprocessor inside the monitor will attempt to operate the horizontal oscillator at (less than 30kHz). This may cause Q504 to fail do to an overload. SOLUTION: The programming inside C-EPROM IC209 has been changed. Before Change: REV 1.2 range of detection 19kHz -112kHz. After Change: REV 1.3 range of detection 29kHz 107kHz.
