Trailer wiring for VW Golf Mk2 1992
On each light unit there are a number of terminals, for the purposes of this chart I have numbered them as follows. 6 pin multi plug 5 single terminals I have called the outside pin (the one furthest from the centre of the car) number 1 running through to the pin nearest centre 6. Again I have worked from outside in and called them S1 S5 S1 S4 are on one side of the multi pin, S5 on the other.
Eg looking at the inside of the offside light unit the terminals are as below. S1 S2 S3 S4 1 2 3 4 5 6 S5

It is not recommended to use the light unit earths. Bolt one on to the body shell for the towing socket
