Subject: Unstable Picture, No Picture, Poor Focus, or Date: February 1, 1995
Brightness Change
Symptom:
(37) Due to G2 leakage on the CRT, part number 8-738-768-05, the picture may become
unstable. The picture might disappear, have poor focus, or brightness levels may
vary.
Solution: The following steps are recommended to alleviate the problem.
1. Mark both G2 (Screen) and G3 (Focus) pot's initial position.
2. Set G2 (Screen) fully Counter Clockwise.
3. Set G3 (Focus) fully Clockwise, so that the voltage potential between G2 and
G3 is the greatest. You might see some light arcing in the gun.
4. Reset G2 and G3 to their initial position.
Perform the G2 (Screen) and G3 (Focus) adjustments according to the
instructions in the Service Adjustment section of the Service Manual.
