Automatic Degaussing to Remove Colour Patches
GB
A degaussing coil is mounted around the picture tube so that external degaussing after moving the receiver is normally unnecessary. If the receiver is moved or placed in a different direction, or, a coloured patch appears on the screen, the main power switch must be switched to the off position for 120minutes or the power cord must be unplugged for the same interval to allow the automatic degauss circuits to operate properly. For safety, the receiver should be switched off from the main power switch when it is unattended.
Magnetic fields can cause your television to malfunction. Degaussing is a process that neutralises magnetic fields.
