PERIODIC MAINTENANCE CHART
Periodic Maintenance Overview
Careful periodic maintenance will help keep your vehicle in the safest, most reliable condition. Inspection, adjustment
and lubrication of important components are explained in the periodic maintenance chart.

Inspect, clean, lubricate, adjust and replace parts as necessary. When inspection reveals the need for replacement
parts, use genuine Polaris parts available from your Polaris dealer.
NOTE: Service and adjustments are critical. If you're not familiar with safe service and adjustment procedures, have a
qualified dealer perform these operations.

Periodically inspect the torque of all fasteners in accordance with the maintenance schedule. Check that all cotter pins
are in place. Refer to specific fastener torques listed in each chapter.

bolts (Item 3) to specifications.
Cover Bolts:
25-30 ft-lbs (34-40 Nm) 7. Install the cover (Item 2), install the three bolt (Item 1)
and tighten to specifications.

Lubricating The PTO Driveline WARNING
Lubricate the snow blower grease fittings (Item 1) as
scheduled. AVOID SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH
Before leaving the operator seat:

·Press the brake and put the gear selector lever in
PARK.
·Stop the engine and remove the key.
·Make sure PTO driveline and all rotating parts have

NOTE: Fluid such as engine oil, hydraulic fluid,
coolants, grease, etc. must be disposed of in an
environmentally safe manner. Some regulations
require that certain spills and leaks on the ground
must be cleaned in a specific manner. See local,
state and federal regulations for the correct
disposal.
1. Position the vehicle on a level surface and fully lower
the attachment to the ground.
2. Move the gear selector lever to Park.

NOTE: Fluid such as engine oil, hydraulic fluid,
coolants, grease, etc. must be disposed of in an
environmentally safe manner. Some regulations
require that certain spills and leaks on the ground
must be cleaned in a specific manner. See local,
state and federal regulations for the correct
disposal.
NOTE: When repairing hydrostatic or hydraulic
systems, clean the work area before disassembly
and keep parts clean. Always use caps and plugs on
hoses, tubelines and ports to keep dirt out. Dirt can 4
quickly damage the system. 5

5. Remove the gerotor (Item 4).
6. Remove the seal (Item 5) from the gerotor.

NOTE: To prevent damage to the housing use a soft
material over the vise jaws.
7. Remove the shaft (Item 6), spacer plate (Item 7) and
the seal (Item 8).

8. Reposition the housing in the vise. Clamp the housing

NOTE: The plug assembly (Item 18) only needs to be
removed if signs of leakage is seen around the plug
assembly.
14. To remove the plug assembly (Item 18), insert a 3/16
inch (5 mm) hex wrench (Item 19) through the port
opening on the housing and use the end of the wrench
to carefully push the plug assembly out.

Check all parts for damage. Replace all parts that show
signs of wear or damage.

(Item 13) and the o-ring (Item 14) from the mounting

seals, O-rings and bearings in position during
assembly.

Always use new seals and O-rings during assembly of the 3
motor. Lubricate seals and O-rings with petroleum jelly.
2. If the plug assembly (Item 2) was removed, install the
O-ring (Item 3) on the plug assembly.

1. Wash the housing (Item 1) with cleaning solvent and
dry with compressed air.
NOTE: Make sure the threaded holes (Item 2) are
clean and free of any contamination.
4. Lubricate the shaft (Item 4) with clean hydraulic oil.
5. Install the bearing (Item 5) and bearing race (Item 6)
onto the shaft.
6. Install the shaft (Item 4) into the housing.
WARNING NOTE: The bearing and race should rotate freely on
the shaft after the shaft is installed.
Protect eyes from contact with cleaner. Take
appropriate safety measures during these
procedures. Safety glasses and chemical resistant
gloves are required. Should you get cleaner in your
eyes or if you swallow cleaner, seek medical attention
immediately.

6. Install the gerotor seal (Item 20) on the gerotor (Item
21) seal groove.
7. Align any star point (Item 22) with the tooth marked
on the shaft (Item 23).
