Check hydraulic tubes, hoses and fittings for damage

Welding And Grinding

Always clean the machine and attachment, disconnect
the battery, and disconnect the wiring from the controllers
before welding. Cover rubber hoses, battery and all other
flammable parts. Keep a fire extinguisher near the
machine when welding.

Have good ventilation when grinding or welding painted
parts. Wear dust mask when grinding painted parts.
Toxic dust or gas can be produced.

Dust generated from repairing nonmetallic parts such as
hoods, fenders or covers can be flammable or explosive.
Repair such components in a well ventilated area away
from open flames or sparks.

Fire Extinguishers




Know where fire extinguishers and first aid kits are
located and how to use them. Inspect the fire
extinguisher and service the fire extinguisher regularly.
Obey the recommendations on the instructions plate.

INITIAL SETUP

Adjusting Skid Shoe Height

Lift the snow blade off the ground. (See LIFTING THE
ATTACHMENT on Page 39.)

Place blocks (Item 1) [Figure 3] under the cutting edge
(both sides) to hold the skid shoe(s) off the ground.

Lower the snow blade until it rests on the blocks.

Stop the engine and exit the machine. (See Entering And
Exiting The Utility Vehicle on Page 24.)

Remove the retaining pin (Item 2) and the skid shoe
(Item 3) [Figure 3].

Install or remove spacers (Item 4) [Figure 3] to the
desired skid shoe height.

Insert the skid shoe (Item 3) all the way into the skid shoe
sleeve (Item 5) [Figure 3].

NOTE: If the skid shoes are not installed properly, the
weight of the snow blade will be put upon the
retaining pin instead of the washers and may
cause breakage.

Reinstall retaining pin (Item 2) through a retaining pin
hole in the skid shoe sleeve (Item 5) [Figure 3].

NOTE: There are two retaining pin holes in the skid
shoe sleeve. Depending on the amount of
spacers used, one hole will be open and one
will be blocked. If the pin will not go through,
one hole, use the other hole.

Repeat on the other side, making sure both skid shoes
are adjusted to the same height.

Inspect the pin mounts (Item 1) and mounting flange
(Item 2) [Figure 4] and all welds on the snow blade for
wear and damage each time the snow blade is removed
from the machine.

Check the following items at the start of a work day:

· Check for damaged or missing decals. Replace if Figure 5
necessary.
· Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately.

Inspect the mounting frame (Item 1) [Figure 5] and all
welds on the attachment mount for wear and damage
each time the attachment is removed from the machine.

Repair or replace damaged parts.

The warranty is void if this attachment is used on a
non-approved carrier. See your POLARIS dealer for
an updated list of approved carriers.

Never use attachments or buckets which are not
approved by POLARIS. Attachments and buckets for
safe loads of specified densities are approved for
each model. Unapproved attachments and buckets
can cause injury or death.

The utility vehicle must be equipped with front auxiliary
hydraulics (Item 1) and have the Attachment Control kit
(Item 2) [Figure 7] for proper operation of the hydraulic
V-blade. See your POLARIS Utility Vehicle dealer for
available kits for your model utility vehicle.

The attachment mounting frame for the attachment has a
top flange that is designed to receive the top edge of the 1

Back dragging large amounts of snow with the V-blade is
