Title:
PC Drum Paper Seperator Marks
Symptom:
Paper Transport / PC Drum wrap around Paper JAM Detection Sensor
Symptom Explanation:
PC Drum Paper Seperator Marks
Notice:
PC Drum Paper Seperator Marks is registered as non-supproted
matters and it is difficult to solve this
problem completely. Therefore in order to reduce the occurance of this
problem as much as
possible, the following information is offered .
1. Switch the DIP SW "ON or OFF" position in the Image Transfer
Separation High Voltage Unit
to make the difference between AC output and DC output optimum so
that marking of the
Separators can be eliminated.
[Side Effects]
If the difference is adjusted too large, AC mark will be reproduced.
[Attention]
VR attached in HV is used for rough adjustment in factory, so it is
neccesary not to touch it.
If marking of the Seperators doesn't disappear by adjusting DIP SW,
there is strong possibility
that other factors influence greatly .)

2. Replenish the toner immediately with "Toner Replenisher " after having
increased the ATDC
control voltage by 0.3v.
[Reason]
Among the machines, TC ratio tends to be controlled at the lower side
within the specified
ratio. If TC ratio has decreased to 3.5% or less in such a machine,
image stabilization
control starts to work to make Vg high, which may result in the lower
performance of Seperator.
In order to avoid working the image stabilization control, set the TC ratio
to the higher side.
[Side Effects]
Amount of toner consumption:
There is no change since the ID is controlled within the specified level
thanks to AIDC
control.
Toner scattering:
It is confirmed that the level of toner scattering is within the acceptable
level. This is the
procedure to be taken if operation of the image stabilization control
cannot be avoided.
3. Deterioration of Charge Wire sometimes causes the decrease of the
difference in voltage.
Adjust the difference between AC output and DC output after having
exchanged Charge
Wire.
< Factors of the lower performance of Separator>
When the following factors overlaps, the lower performance of Seperator is
likely to appear
ramarkably after the occurance of marking of the Seperators.
Especially paper quality has a much effect on the occurance of this lower
performance.
There is some cases in which machine cannot be repaired.
1.soft paper
2.creasy paper
3.moist paper
4.Image B/W ratio is small.
5.The surface potential of PC drum is high.
6.Paper has a curl which is along the curve of the drum
