Model: DVD-1500, DVD-1000
Subject: Countermeasures for improving the "Lip-synch" and "Unit is
incapable of playing a particular disc" phenomena.
Symptom: When the unit is playing a particular disc, the playback stops, sound
clips and/or Lip-synch phenomenon happens. Therefore, please apply the
following modifications upon claim. The above symptom occurs when playing the
following discs:
1) ARMAGEDDON, RIO LION II and House Whisperer
2) Yuko Aoki (sold in Japan): The unit is incapable of playing the chapter. (The
unit plays back MENU pictures.)
3) When playing back sound signals on the Beastie Boys (USA and Japan), the
sound signal clips when the recorded signal level is high.
Solution: 1) For the Model DVD-1000:
Replace IC102, EPROM (W27E040-12) on the Main PWB.
2) For the Model DVD-150:
Replace IC104, EPROM (W27E040-12) on the Main PWB Ass'y.
