Model: DBP-4010UDCI
Subject: Modification of the firmware via DPMS (D&M Product Management
Server).
Symptom: 1) Addition of "Web control" and "Remote Maintenance function
(Tel-net) ". Please download the following Instruction manual.
2) When unit reproduces a specific BD which made in only the "Twentieth
Century Fox Film Corporation", the unit will display a picture promoting an update
of the firmware, and then the block noise might generate when unit reproduces
the main title.
3) When unit reproduces specific BD which made in only the "Twentieth Century
Fox Film Corporation", unit displays a text that promoting update of the firmware,
and unit might reproduce the main title.
4) When unit reproduces DVD-Audio, the audio signal might output without any
sound or noise signal or/and the video signal might output without any picture.
5) Customer complained Blue Ray "Quantum of Solace" would not play.
6) Sound skip occur when play a specific BD "TRONDHEIM SOLISTENE"
[2L50SACD].
7) Crackling noise on surround back speakers during playback of "DTS-HD-
MSTR 6.1 disc".
8) The unit freeze when stop playback of BD-RE which is recorded a data of BS-
High.
9) The unit won't turn on. No red LED light of power indication comes on.
10) When "AMX DIRECT SEARCH 19" is searched, but the unit searches "10".

11) When press the "POPUP MENU" button while playing SACD disc, unit might
be stopped.
12) The freeze occurs in one mode though there are four kinds of sound output in
the disc ( "unplugged" No.2729428). The mode is only DTS-HD Master
Audio7.1. It is frozen near Track 21(1h 28m 03s), and the video and the sound
stop. But, the FL Display counts time.
13) Layer Break of DVD is clearly visible when playing back DVD9 with all Denon
BD players.
Solution: We corrected the firmware so that no malfunction occurs.
Please do not use a Proxy for updating in the Network environment! If the
customer uses a Proxy setting the unit won't update the firmware properly.
Caution: It is necessary to initialize the unit before the update work begins. The
customer has to initialize their BD/DVD Player. Please update the firmware after
you confirm this matter to the customer.
Updating the firmware (Refer to the Instruction Manual.)
1) Turn the Power Supply of the unit off.
2) Connect the Ethernet terminal of the unit to the Network line by Ethernet
straight cable. (Don't use Ethernet cross cable.)
3) The connection of the network recommends the Ethernet cable for certain
update.
4) Turn the Power Supply of the unit on.
5) Remove the Disc from the Tray.
6) Please confirm! "NO DISC" on the FL Display.
7) The unit sets the Internet. It wishes waiting for about two minutes until
customer's router ends the setting.
Caution: The update doesn't succeed when the customer's set cannot hook up to
the Internet correctly. In this case, please confirm the internet environment of the
customer house. Whether the Internet radio can be received correctly or not is a
good indicator of the customer's internet connection. There are some problems
under the internet environment when the Internet radio can not be received.
8) Press "SETUP" button on the Remote control and indicates the GUI menu.
9) Press "CURSOR" button.
10) The GUI indicates, "Other Setup" > "Firmware Update".

Caution: The update interrupts when it is not possible to connect it with the
Internet correctly. In this case, please do from 1) again.
11) Select the "Start" on GUI.

12) Press the "ENTER" button.
13) The firmware will start updating.
Caution: When the firmware update starts correctly, the GUI and the audio
signal, etc. stop everything, and become the update operation.
14) When updating starts, the power indicator lights red.
15) The GUI display disappears, and becomes only FL display.
16) During update, a rough remaining time is indicated on the display. When
updating is complete the power indicator lights green and
