Subject: Firmware Correction
Countermeasure is applicable only upon claim from the customer.
Symptom: 1) The audio sounds "metallic" when playing back a specific Blu-ray
disc.
2) Sound skipping occurs when playing back a Blu-ray disc "Disney Enchanted"
in Dolby True HD.
3) Sound breaks off when output HDMI in Dolby True HD.
4) The sound becomes interrupted by the operation such as "STOP to PLAY"
momentarily when "Dolby True HD" is reproduced by "HD Audio Out" setting.
5) When the unit is connected with a specific projector (made by the Projection
Design Company D-Vision 30XC DLP Projector) with HDMI, the color of the
picture is not correct.
6) When the tray opens while playing the Blu-ray Disc "The Rookie", the unit
freezes.
7) The disc where "FPD Benchmark Software" (issue appendix in January in
fiscal year 2008 of the AV review) was copied by "B's Recorder GOLD9" might
not be able to be reproduced.
8) The unit is connected with "TH-32LX80 (Set "Deep Color Auto" by the monitor
for Deep Color) " with HDMI, and, when the DVD disc for CSS is inserted in the
unit, and the power supply of the unit is turned on, the sound is not emitted for
2~3 minutes.
Solution: We corrected the firmware so that no malfunction occurs.
MODIFICATION: We will supply the following program files for updating the
subject models. Therefore, please record each program file on a blank CD-R
separately, and update the unit upon repair of the unit.

Note: Upon recording the Disc:
a) When recording the supplied file on the blank CD-R, the format shall be
"ISO9660" and the session shall be "CLOSE".
b) When recording the supplied file on the disc, please use the lowest recording
speed that is available on your PC. If the file is recorded at a higher speed, the
rewriting operation may fail due to improperly recorded data on the disc.
1) Rewriting procedures of the FE/BE ROMs.
(1) Turn the Power Supply of the unit on. Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and
open the Disc Tray.
(2) Put the recorded CD-R on the Disc Tray and press the buttons on the remote
control in the order of "9", "8", "7", "6" and "POP UP MENU/MENU".
(3) The Disc Tray closes, the FL Display indicates "F/W-UP" and the update of
the firmware starts automatically.
(4) After indicating the "Ver: 1114" on the FL Display, the Disc Tray opens
automatically.
(5) Take out the Disc from the Disc Tray.
(6) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and close the Disc Tray.
(7) Do not turn off the Power Supply of the unit!
(8) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and close the Disc Tray.
(9) The FL Display indicates from "0%" to "100%".
(10) The FL Display indicates "100%", and then indicates the checksum.
(11) The new firmware is installed completely.
(12) Pull out AC cable from the AC Strip.
2) Confirmation of the version:
(1) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and close the Disc Tray.
(2) Please confirm! "NO DISC" on the FL Display.

(3) Press the buttons on the remote control in the order of "1", "2", "3", "4" and
"DISPLAY".
(4) The following firmware versions appear on the GUI.
DSP1 Firmware:
1) Rewriting procedures of the "DSP1" ROMs.
(1) Turn the Power Supply of the unit on. Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and
open the Disc Tray.
(2) Put the recorded CD-R on the Disc Tray and press the buttons on the remote
control in the order of "9", "8", "7", "6" and "POP UP MENU/MENU".
(3) The Disc Tray closes, the FL Display indicates "F/W-UP" and the update of
the firmware starts automatically.
(4) After indicating the "Ver:" on the FL Display, the Disc Tray opens
automatically.
(5) Take out the Disc from the Disc Tray.
(6) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and close the Disc Tray.
(7) Do not turn off the Power Supply of the unit!
(8) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and close the Disc Tray.
(9) The FL Display indicates from "0%" to "100%".
(10) The FL Display indicates "100%", and then indicates the checksum.
(11) The new firmware is installed completely.
(12) Pull out AC cable from the AC Strip.
2) Confirmation of the "DSP1" version:
(1) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and close the Disc Tray.
(2) Please confirm! "NO DISC" on the FL Display.
(3) Press the buttons on the remote control in the order of "1", "2", "3", "4" and
"DISPLAY".
(4) The following firmware versions appear on the OSD.
Cautions during the rewriting operation:
1) Please do not turn off the Power of the unit during the rewriting operation.

2) If the Display is not turning into the version of the firmware during the rewriting
operation, wait longer than 10 minutes after closing the Disc Tray. Then, turn off
the Power of the unit and start the rewriting operation from the beginning again.
