Subject: Correction of the firmware of DPMS
Countermeasure is applicable only upon claim from the customer.
Symptom: 1) The sound of analog-output is distorted and can not play
normally when playing the multi channel of a specific BD disc titled "20th
Anniversary DREAMS COME TRUE CONCERT TOUR 2009".
2) When BD software "THE HAPPENING" was reproduced, a menu screen does
not output it after updating of the unit for BD disc AVATAR.
3) DENON LINK 4th does not works when connect the unit to HDMI terminal 2 of
TH-P50VT2.
4) We are modified unit by indication from the DVD Copy Control Association
(DVD CCA).
Solution: We corrected the firmware so no malfunction occurs.
Please do not use a Proxy for updating in the Network environment! If the
customer uses setting of Proxy, the unit won't update the firmware properly. If the
customer updated the firmware once via DPMS or CD-R, customer can update
the firmware with Proxy in the Network environment.
Caution: It is necessary to initialize the unit before the update work begins. The
customer has to initialize their BD/DVD Player. Please update the firmware after
you confirm this matter to the customer beforehand.

Updating the firmware (Refer to the Instruction Manual.)
1) Turn the Power Supply of the unit off.
2) Connect the Ethernet terminal of the unit to the Network line by Ethernet
straight cable. (Don't use Ethernet cross cable.)
3) The connection of the network recommends the Ethernet cable for certain
update, not a wireless connection.
4) Turn the Power Supply of the unit on.
5) Remove the Disc from the Tray.
6) Please confirm! "NO DISC" on the FL Display.
7) The unit sets the Internet. It wishes waiting for about two minutes until
customer's router ends the setting.
Caution: The update doesn't succeed when the customers set cannot hook up to
the Internet correctly. In this case, please confirm the internet environment at the
customer's home. If they are able to receive Internet radio correctly or not can be
used to determine whether the Internet is connected properly to the internet.
There are some problems under the internet environment when the Internet radio
can not be received.
8) Press "SETUP" button on the Remote control and indicates the GUI menu.
9) Press "CURSOR" button.
10) The GUI indicates, "Other Setup" > "Firmware Update".
Caution: The update interrupts when it is not possible to connect to the Internet
correctly. In this case, please do from 1) again.

11) Select the "Start" on GUI.
12) Press the "ENTER" button.
13) The firmware will start updating.

Caution: When the firmware update starts correctly, the GUI and the audio
signal, etc. everything stops, and becomes the update operation.
14) When updating starts, the power indicator lights red.
15) The GUI display disappears, and becomes only the FL display.
16) During update, a rough remaining time is indicated on the display. When
updating is complete the power indicator lights green and normal status is
resumed.
17) During the updating, the FL Display indicates the procedure of update the
firmware. Time necessary for update: approximately 30 min.
Caution: The update time might change depending on the situation of the DPMS
server and the speed of the Internet environment of the customer house.
18) The unit initializes automatically.
Confirmation of the version:
1) Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button and open the Disc Tray.
2) Remove the Disc from the Tray.
3) Please confirm! "NO DISC" on the FL Display.
4) While pushing the "PLAY" and "OPEN/CLOSE" button, turn on the power of
unit.
5) Plug in AC CORD.
6) The indication of "PLAY" and "PAUSE" will be displayed on FL Display.
7) Please confirm! "NO DISC" on the FL Display, and wait 10 seconds.
8) Press the buttons on the remote control in the order of "3", "2", "6" and "5".
9) The version of the firmware will be indicated on the FL Display.
10) The firmware list will also be shown on connected TV (GUI).
11) Push the "UP" button of cursor button, version of the each firmware will be
indicated on the FL Display.
Cautions during the rewriting operation:
1) Please do not turn off the Power of the unit during the rewriting operation.
2) If the Display isn't turning into the following version of the firmware during the
rewriting operation, wait longer than 10 minutes after closing the Disc Tray.
Then, turn off the Power of the unit and start the rewriting operation from the
beginning again.

Trouble shooting: If the display reads as shown below, check the settings and
network environment, then update again. The problem is not in the Internet
connection if the Internet radio can be able to be received correctly.

Cautions during the updating operation:
1) Please do not turn off the setting of "DHCP" when you update the unit.
(Initialization is turning on.) Please execute it under the guidance of the IT staff
with computer skills when the setting of "DHCP" is unavoidably turned off by
limiting the electronic environment, and you set IP Address, the subnet mask, the
default gateway, and DNS, etc. for myself. When it makes a mistake in the
setting with "DHCP" turned off, the unit might not operate, and the unit be
damaged in the worst situation. Please do not touch the setting of "DHCP"
except in special circumstances.
2) When the customer uses a "Netgear router 614 Series" for updating, "uPnP"
has to be deactivated in the router.
3) Do not turn off the Power of the unit during the updating operation.
4) If the Display has kept indicating fixed during the updating operation, wait
longer than total updating time. Then, turn off the Power of the unit and start the
updating operation from the beginning again.
5) The unit doesn't break down while updating it when the power supply of the
unit is turned off or the cable of the Internet is pulled out.
6) Please execute initialization when it is not improved. Still, please repair by
service when it is not improved.
