Model: DVD-2900
Subject: Countermeasure for the malfunction of RS-232C.
Symptom: The answer command is not returned to the RS-232C though over
10 seconds have passed, during the "SET-UP MENU".
Solution: The software has been corrected.
Please upgrade the "Back-end MICON" of the unit when the customer brings the
unit in for service for the reason outlined in the symptom or for any other reason.
* Upgrading Procedures of the "Back-end MICON":
1) Be sure to record the program file onto a blank CD-R Disc, and use the disc to
upgrade the Back-end MICON on the unit. Note: Do not record any other sources
on the CD-R Disc, except the program file.
2) Turn on the Power of the unit. Set the above CD-R Disc to the Loader.
3) The unit automatically starts the upgrading operation.
4) The disc is ejected automatically after completion of the upgrading.
5) After ejection of the Disc, refer to the Service Manual and confirm the Version
of the MICON. (Version: "6237R")
Caution: After starting the upgrade operation, do not operate the unit or turn off
the Power until the Disc is automatically ejected. If the Power is turned off before
ejecting the Disc, you will have to replace the Flash ROM.
