After upgraded, the ROOM EQ setting of product (AVR-4306/AVC-4320) is initialized, so please
excute AUTO SETUP again according to the manual (attached to the product at the time of
purchase).
Please load and set USER MEMORY according to the manual (attached to the product at time of
purchase) before the upgrade when you want to leave the data of USER MEMORY. The data that
can be maintained when the upgrade is executed is only a present setting.

Please keep the following notice for firmware update.
a) Keep the PC environment refer to 1.1.
b) Don't use a wireless network. (Flat type LAN cable)
Connect it by cable.
Don't use flat type LAN cable like the right picture.
c) Stop the resident program on PC.
(Virus checker and System check utility, etc)
d) Avoid the communication cable from the electrical noise
source.
(E.g. telephone cable, AC line, a fluorescent light)
e) Stop the screen saver ability on PC.
f) Stop the power save ability on PC.
g) In case of laptop PC, Use the AC adaptor.
h) Don't remove cable during update.
i) Don't turn off the power during update.
j) Don't run other PC application during update.
k) Please power off the product (AVR-4306/AVC-4320) before upgrade.
Please power on the product according to this manual.
l) This upgrade takes almost 10 minutes from beginning to the end.
The upgrade situation is displayed the bar graph, and can confirm the status.
Please do not touch the router, working PC, the AV Receiver/amplifier, the connecting cable,
and HUB while upgrade.

1. Preparations before starting the operation
1.1 Preparation for the Personal Computer
Minimum hardware and software requirements:
Type PC/AT compatible
CPU Intel Pentium/Celeron500MHz or faster
RAM 128MB or more
Free hard disc space 25MB or more
OS Windows XP Home Edition / Professional SP2 or more
Display resolution Super VGA (800x600) or more.
Port. ETHERNET port(RJ-45)
Communication speed ETHERNET:10BASE-T/100BASE-TX
1.2 Preparations for the cables
There are three methods.
a) 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet cross cable x 1pcs.
b) 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet straight cable x 2pcs
and 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet HUB or Router(w/o DHCP server).
c) 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet straight cable x 2pcs
and 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet HUB or Router(with DHCP server).

1.3 Connection of AV receiver/amplifier and PC
You can select the following 3 methods.
Also connect the display monitor for OSD.
a) Connect the Ethernet cross cable between Ethernet port of PC and Ethernet port of AV
Receiver/Amplifier. (refer to 2)

b) Connect the Ethernet straight cable between Ethernet port of PC and Ethernet port of Hub (or
Router w/o DHCP server). And connect the Ethernet straight cable between Ethernet port of
Hub (or Router w/o DHCP server) and Ethernet port of AV Receiver/Amplifier. (refer to 3)

C) Connect the Ethernet straight cable between Ethernet port of PC and Ethernet port of
Router( with DHCP server). And connect the Ethernet straight cable between Ethernet port of
Router( with DHCP server) and Ethernet port of AV Receiver/Amplifier. (refer to 4)

1.4 Install the DENON Flash ROM Writer Compact version.
(1) Execute the "FWCV_AVR4306_V0010_SETUP.exe" or
the "FWCV_AVC4320_V0010_SETUP.exe".
(2) Install utility according to message.
(3) After installed, you can see the `DENON FWCV_AVR4306_V0010'icon or
the `DENON FWCV_AVC4320_V0010'icon on desktop.

2. Firmware update procedure
(In case of direct connection without hub using cross cable.)
2.1 Setup the IP address PC and the AV Receiver/Amplifier
1) Setup the fixed IP address of PC.
Setup the IP Address.
IP Address:192.168.0.2, Subnet Mask:255.255.255.0
2) Setup the fixed IP address of the AV Receiver/Amplifier.
Refer to 2.2.
IP Address:192.168.0.1, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
2.2 How to setup the fixed IP address of the AV Receiver/ Amplifier.
1) Turn on the power switch of the AV Receiver /Amplifier.
2) Confirm the power indicator is green. If the power indicator is red, Make the power indicator
green pushing the ON/STANDBY button.
3) Push the `SYSTEM SETUP' button. You can see the "System Setup" menu.
4) Select the "Network Setup" using cursor UP/DOWN button.
5) Push the "CH SEL ENTER" button. You can see the "IP Address".
6) Push the "CH SEL ENTER" button. Setup the "DHCP : " to "DHCP : "
using cursor LEFT/RIGHT button.
7) Push the cursor DOWN button. Push the cursor RIGHT button at "IP Address" indication.
8) Setup the IP Address using cursor LEFT/RIGHT/UP/DOWN button.
9) Push the "CH SEL ENTER". Then set the IP address.
10) Also, Setup the "Subnet Mask".
11) Push the 'SYSTEM SETUP' button 2 times, and Exit the "System Setup" menu.

2.3 Run the DENON Flash ROM Writer Compact version.
Run the `DENON FWCV_AVR4306_V0010'or the `DENON FWCV_AVC4320_V0010'
on desktop of PC.

2.3.1 Communication check.
1) Input the IP Address.
2) Click the "Check Communication" button.

3) If connection is good, You can see the "Communication check OK." Message.
4) Please wait 1 min at least. If connection is not good, then you can see
the "Communication check NG!" message.
Please confirm the following.
a) Check the connection (refer to 1.3(a)).
b) Check Power on Mode (refer to 2.2(2)).
c) Check the IP address (refer to 2.1(2)).

2.3.2 Start the firmware update
Click the "Update" button.
2.3.3 Complete the firmware update.
1) When the firmware update is completed, you can see the "Update completed." message.
2) When the firmware update fails, you can see the error message.
Confirm , 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3, and retry the firmware update from "2.1 Setup the IP
address PC and the AV Receiver/Amplifier".
However, If you failed update during MAIN microcomputer update, Retry the firmware update
refer to "5. Firmware update retrial procedure".

3. Firmwares update procedure
(In case of Ethernet HUB or Router (without DHCP server ability))
3.1 Setup the IP address PC and the AV Receiver/Amplifier
1) Setup the fixed IP address of PC.
Setup the IP Address.
IP Address:192.168.0.2(*1), Subnet Mask:255.255.255.0
2) Setup the fixed IP address of the AV Receiver/Amplifier.
Refer to 2.2.
IP Address:192.168.0.1(*1), Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
(*1) Set it to other IP addresses when other equipment connected with HUB or
the router compete with IP address.
3.2 How to setup the fixed IP address of the AV Receiver/ Amplifier.
1) Turn on the power switch of the AV Receiver /Amplifier.
2) Confirm the power indicator is green. If the power indicator is red, Make the power indicator
green pushing the ON/STANDBY button.
3) Push the `SYSTEM SETUP' button. You can see the "System Setup" menu.
4) Select the "Network Setup" using cursor UP/DOWN button.
5) Push the "CH SEL ENTER" button. You can see the "IP Address".
6) Push the "CH SEL ENTER" button. Setup the "DHCP : " to "DHCP : "
using cursor LEFT/RIGHT button.
7) Push the cursor DOWN button. Push the cursor RIGHT button at "IP Address" indication.
8) Setup the IP Address using cursor LEFT/RIGHT/UP/DOWN button.
9) Push the "CH SEL ENTER". Then set the IP address.
10) Also, Setup the "Subnet Mask".
11) Push the 'SYSTEM SETUP' button 2 times, and Exit the "System Setup" menu.

3.3 Run the DENON Flash ROM Writer Compact version.
Run the `DENON FWCV_AVR4306_V0010'or the `DENON FWCV_AVC4320_V0010'
on desktop of PC.

3.3.1 Communication check.

Click the "Update" button.
3.3.3 Complete the firmware update.
1) When the firmware update is completed, you can see the "Update completed." message.
2) When the firmware update fails, you can see the error message.
Confirm , 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3, and retry the firmware update from "3.1 Setup the IP
address PC and the AV Receiver/Amplifier".

4. Firmwares update procedure.
(In case of Ethernet HUB or Router (with DHCP server ability))
4.1 Setup the IP address PC and the AV Receiver/Amplifier
1) Setup the auto IP address of PC.
Setup the IP Address at Auto IP mode.
2) Setup the auto IP address of the AV Receiver/Amplifier.
Refer to 4.2.
4.2 How to setup the auto IP address of the AV Receiver/Amplifier.
1) Turn on the power switch of the AV Receiver /Amplifier.
2) Confirm the power indicator is green. If the power indicator is red, Make the power indicator
green pushing the ON/STANDBY button.
3) Push the `SYSTEM SETUP' button. You can see the "System Setup" menu.
4) Select the "Network Setup" using cursor UP/DOWN button.
5) Push the "CH SEL ENTER" button. You can see the "IP Address".
6) Push the "CH SEL ENTER" button. Setup the "DHCP : " to "DHCP : "
using cursor LEFT/RIGHT button.
7) Push the "CH SEL ENTER" button. Then set the auto IP address.
8) Push the 'SYSTEM SETUP' button 2 times, and Exit the "System Setup" menu.
4.3 Confirm IP Address of the AV Receiver/Amplifier.
Operate the following. Confirm IP Adress of the AV Receiver/Amplifier.
1) Push the `SYSTEM SETUP' button. You can see the "System Setup" menu.
2) Select the "Network Setup" using cursor UP/DOWN button.
3) Push the "CH SEL ENTER" button. You can see the "IP Address".
4) Push the "CH SEL ENTER" button. You can see the "DHCP : " .
5) Push the cursor DOWN button. You can confirm the IP Address (Write down "IP address").
6) Push the 'SYSTEM SETUP' button 2 times, and Exit the "System Setup" menu.

4.4 Run the DENON Flash ROM Writer Compact version.
Run the `DENON FWCV_AVR4306_V0010'or the `DENON FWCV_AVC4320_V0010'
on desktop of PC.

4.4.1 Communication check.
1) Input the IP Address (refer to 4.3(5)).
2) Click the "Check Communication" button.

3) If connection is good, You can see the "Communication check OK." Message.
4) Please wait 1 min at least. If connection is not good, then you can see
the "Communication check NG!" message.
Please confirm the following.
a) Check the connection (refer to 1.3(c)).
b) Check Power on Mode (refer to 4.2(2)).
b) Check the IP address (refer to 4.1(2)).

4.4.2 Start the firmware update
Click the "Update" button.
4.4.3 Complete the firmware update.
1) When the firmware update is completed, you can see the "Update completed." message.
2) When the firmware update fails, you can see the error message.
Confirm , 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3, and retry the firmware update from "4.1 Setup the IP
address PC and the AV Receiver/Amplifier".
However, If you failed update during MAIN microcomputer update, Retry the firmware update
refer to "5. Firmware update retrial procedure".

5. Firmware update retrial procedure
When the firmware update fails, retry the firmware update with the following procedure.
1) Turn off the power switch of the AV Receiver /Amplifier.
2) Confirm .
3) Confirm the connection of PC and the AV Receiver/Amplifier (refer to 1.3).
4) Retry the firmware update.
However, retry the firmware update after it recovers in the following cases with the recovery tool.
1) When the POWER switch is turned on, and it doesn't turn on the power of
the AV Receiver /Amplifier.
2) When the POWER switch of the AV Receiver /Amplifier is ON and works normally
but it fails in communications of the Update tool.
