Subject: 1) Countermeasure for the sound interruption during the playback
of a particular disc.
2) Countermeasure for the Chroma Delay at the Progressive Output.
Symptom: 1) Sound interruption: Upon playing back Queen's "The Game"
(DVD Audio), if the playback continued up to Track #4 after selecting Stereo in
the Menu, the sound interruption occurs in approximately 12 minutes and 20
seconds.
2) Chroma Delay: On the Progressive Output image, the C (color difference)
signal has delayed against the Y (Intensity) signal and the color is blurred.
Solution: 1) Sound interruption: Improved the object program file in the ESS
MICON so that the malfunction does not occur.
2) Chroma Delay: The circuit and the software has changed the so that blurred
color does not occur.
Please apply the following modifications to your customer's unit upon claim.
1) Hardware (Circuit): Please replace the L. P. Filters with ones whose group
delay time has been improved, and replace the transistors with ones whose high
frequency characteristics is sufficient.
