Data Kit Desktop or Notebook PC Download Monitor Program LG-600 mobile phone 5.1.2 Data Kit Download Procedure I General Purpose: This document gives a guideline for upgrading software of LG-600 GSM/DCS Dual-band mobile phone using UART port. I Download Environment: In order to download software of LG-600, the following working environments should be prepared: LG-600 Data Link Kit, DK-10G that is connected to COM1 or COM2 serial port in the Desktop or Notebook PC. LG-600 Data Kit Download Monitor Program that is copied to Desktop PC or Notebook PC. Target SW* downloaded to LG-600 mobile phone. Note: Target SW* means any necessary software to be downloaded to the mobile phone. Warning You MUST use the Data Link Kit (DK-10G) and UART Download Monitor program that are provided from LGE. Otherwise downloading process won't work properly. - 17 - I Download Procedure 1. Unzip LG-600 UART Download monitor program (monitor632.zip) in PC. 2. Execute monitor632.exe. And then select the "Target" Menu shown in Fig1. Then, choose "Connect" in the Target Menu. 3. A table will be displayed as shown in Fig 2. Then press the arrow-button and choose a correct serial port. And press "OK" button. - 18 - 5. Data Kit & Test Method 4. As the following window shown in Fig 3 is displayed, connect LG-600 Phone to Data Link Kit, DK-10G and power on LG-600. If the connection is succeeded, the following screen will show the contents as shown in Fig 4. - 19 - 5. Click on "Flash" on the top menu and select "Erase and Program Appli Only" item as shown in Fig 5. 6. Finally choose the target SW that you want to download. Try again. If the result is same, change U501 chipset. Then the phone is powered-on properly. Check the LCD module. END - 22 - 5. Data Kit & Test Method 5.2.2 MIC Trouble MIC is not working Connect the Phone to Network Analyzer Check the signal level at the point U501, (F610 = MIC_bias) NO The level is 2.5V YES Check the signal level at the U900, PIN 5,6 and U901, P5,6 after putting audio signal in MIC Check the connectivity of F610 and R614, R616. A few hundreds of mV of signal levels are measured YES NO Check the MIC Replace the U900 or U901 which does not have proper level END - 23 - 5.2.3 RECEIVER Trouble Receiver is not working Connect the Phone to Network Analyzer Check the signal level at the F605, F606 while putting audio signal in MIC A few hundreds of mV of signal levels are measured NO YES Check the connectivity of Receiver component. Check the receiver END - 24 - 5. Data Kit & Test Method 5.2.4 Melody Trouble Melody is not heard Check the connectivity of buzzer. NO The connection is OK YES Connect the buzzer to the phone properly Check the level of R611,Q602 Check whether the melody signal is out from the collector of Q602 NO Replace the Q602 YES END - 25 - 5.2.5 LCD Trouble · U605 : LDC Component LCD Display is not Working Normal state contact of LCD module with LCD connector on PCB. NO Reassemble LCD module with LCD connector YES LCD connector is well soldered onto PCB NO LCD Connector Re-Soldering YES The LCD Driver source voltage is 3V (U305:PIN5) Replace the U305 Replace LCD module END - 26 - 5.
