Subject: CRT Coolant Leakage Symptom: (1111)

Date: May 11, 2001

Coolant found leaking from rubber diaphragm of CRT. On rare occasions, coolant may leak onto the metal CRT bracket and onto circuit boards below causing symptoms of "no picture" and/or "no sound". This is due to component damage related to the coolant contacting circuit boards.

IMPORTANT NOTES: · ·
Replace all three CRTs, if any of the three CRTs are found leaking coolant. This Bulletin is applicable only on the models and their applicable serial number range as stated in this bulletins (refer to the following charts). If any of the above symptoms should occur, all 3 CRTs should be replaced. If any of the boards were damaged by the coolant, ensure that all the coolant has been removed from the boards and repair to component level. Wear rubber gloves while cleaning coolant to avoid coolant contact with skin. Clean the coolant off the boards by thoroughly wiping the board with a rag and brush and replace any defective components. The coolant is a alcohol glycerin base product, therefore after cleaning and replacing any defective components the board can be used without further failures caused by the coolant. Please use care when discarding the cleaning materials, to insure no harm comes to others.
