Preserving the rechargeable batteries (NiCd) To maximize the capacity and life of the rechargeable batteries, they should be fully charged for 16 hrs. before first use and then fully discharged by normal use. Then recharge to full capacity again. The discharging/charging procedure should be done at least every 6 months.

Preserving the rechargeable batteries (NiMH) To maximize the capacity and life of the rechargeable batteries, they should be fully charged for 32 hrs. before first use and then fully discharged by normal use. Then recharge to full capacity again. The discharging/charging procedure should be done at least every 6 months. Cell-Pack Recycling At the end of the time-of-use of this product, for environmental protection, the battery cell pack must be correctly recycled. For this purpose, the following steps are necessary: · Fit the slits on the bottom cap of the rechargeable power unit onto the protruding rim on the bottom of the recharger. Turn the rechargeable power unit approximately 60° in the direction of the arrow (anti-clockwise) as far as it will go. (see illustration) By applying pressure to the motor shaft, push cell pack with motor assembly out of the housing and tear off both thin connecting wires. Break off cell pack with PCB from motor and remove the remaining part of the PCB from the cell pack.

Remove the battery and dispose of according to the local environmental regulations. The cells must never be thrown into fire or flame.

Attention This product contains nickel cadmium or nickel hydride cells. In the interest of protecting the environment, please do not dispose of the cells in the household waste at the end of their useful life. Disposal can take place at appropriate collection sites provided in your country. This product conforms to the EMC requirements as laid down by Council Directive 89/336/EEC. 4712 - 5
