Disassembly: Unscrew the screws (25) and remove the cover plate (26) to the backside. Unscrew the screws (27) and remove the swivel bearing (30) from the upper housing (18). Pull the glow lamp (28) out of the handle by the connecting leads. Disconnect all electrical plug-in connections. The mains lead (23) is provided with self-securing plug-in connectors; the securing pins must be pressed slightly backwards during the disassembling process. Due to UL regulations, the glow lamp (28) and the mains lead (23) cannot be separated from each other and must be replaced as one part only. Turn the steam regulation knob (22) clockwise until the double arrow mark is reached; then remove straight upwards. Unscrew the screws (14) and the screw (20) and remove the upper housing (18). Slide the slider (12) out of the lead in a downward movement. Press the water spray nozzle out of the lead in an upward movement. Remove the hoses of the pumps cpl. (15,16) from the tubes. Remove the pumps cpl. (15,16) by inserting a small screwdriver close to the leading pins. Pry the temperature control knob (17) upwards and remove the thermostat lever (11). Unscrew the screw (14) and remove tank cpl. (13). Snap out the reflector (10) by means of a screwdriver. Unscrew the screws (8,6) and separate the lower housing (5) from the contact position by slightly lifting the front part; then remove the lower housing upwards. Valve nozzle (4), seal (3) and both tubes (7) are contained in the lower housing (5) and can, now, be easily removed. Thermostat fuse and thermostat are fixed at the sole plate cpl. (1); these parts may not be repaired. Assembly: In general, the re-assembly is made in reverse order. However, the following points must be taken in consideration:

Before reassembling the lower housing (5), the valve nozzle (4), seal (3) and tubes (7) must be assembled orderly. Absolute care must be taken that the tank cpl. (13), the pumps cpl. (15, 16), the tube connections and all seals are watertight. Temperature Check: After each repair, the temperature must be checked at the center of the sole plate (marked X in the drawing) (see sketch 1). Measuring procedure: 1 . The device may not show any defect. 2. The steam regulating knob must be positioned at "0". 3. Fasten the measuring sensor at the center of the iron by positioning the slider of the temperature measuring device at 3 4. Operate the iron in the "Maximum" mode (max.). 5. Wait until the control display extinguishes for the first time. 6. Leave the iron in this mode for another approx. 3-5 minutes so that the temperature can stabilize. 7. Observe the temperature for a period of at least one on/off-cycle of the thermostat (see control display). During this period, the temperature must not exceed 230 °C and not be considerably lower than 180 °C. In case that the measuring device indicates a considerable variation, the sole plate must be exchanged, because an adjustment of the thermostat is not possible.
