Using Toshiba Zeus Service Information Preferred Operating Environment: 1. Pentium III or higher 2. 1024 X 768 or higher resolution recommended 3. Mouse with wheel recommended 4. Windows 2000/XP 5. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 6. Autodesk DWF Viewer 6.0 Using Zeus Service Information Autodesk DWF Viewer must be installed in order to use the Toshiba Zeus Service Program. If an internet connection is available to the computer being used, this program can be accessed by simply Left Clicking on the Icon (Link) shown below. The icon is available anytime Zeus Service information is accessed, either on the Toshiba Service web site or a Toshiba disc. Use only this link to load DWF Viewer. Do not obtain the program from another link. It is found by left clicking the sub-headings, "Important Notice" - "User Guide" after the manual selected is opened. (Figure 1)
Figure 1 The window that appears will allow the user to either Run or Save the program. · If Run is selected, the executable file will be used to open the application and install it on your hard drive at the same time. · If the Save function is selected, the file will be saved to the hard drive. It must be installed prior to using a Zeus service manual. Note: An unzip program such as Zip or PK Zip should be used if the Zeus service manual is downloaded from the Toshiba web site to the computer hard drive. This is necessary because the information on the web site is compressed and must be unzipped before files can be extracted to the hard drive. When this is done, select the entire model folder and be sure to follow the instructions associated with the program used. Then place the information in a familiar place (file address) so it can be accessed later. Additionally: If a Toshiba service disc is used and the internet is not available, the Autodesk program can be loaded to the computer by clicking on Announcement at the top of the model listing, and the link to download the Autodesk program. Then follow the instructions in the folder. (Installing the Autodesk executable file)
Using the Toshiba Zeus Service Manual When drawings of schematics are used, a set of action choices will appear at the top of the drawings. These are shown below. (Figure 2)
Figure 2 From left to right they are Pan, Zoom, Zoom Rectangle, Fit to Window, and Print. The desired feature can be selected by left clicking on the desired feature in the box. Let's briefly look at these features, see what they are used for, and how to use them. Detailed operational methods are described in the Usage section of the Service Manual. · The Pan feature is used to move a drawing to a new position on the screen. Examples might be a schematic or a PCB drawing. Movement is accomplished by clicking on the feature at the top and then on the drawing. To reposition the drawing, depress and hold the left mouse button while moving the mouse. This feature can also be used to locate part descriptions or part numbers located in the parts list. Simply left click on the part designation located on the schematic. The third important use for this feature is to link schematic locations with other sections of the schematic or part connections. This is done by left clicking the schematic label at the beginning location and choosing the desired termination link.
·
is also a feature of the mouse. The mouse can be used The Zoom function to zoom in closer to or move farther away from a detail on the drawing · To Zoom, after left clicking on the symbol and double clicking on the object, depress and hold the left mouse button down and move the feature symbol from the lower right corner of the window to the upper left corner. Then, if necessary, reposition the object with the Pan feature. · Zoom can also be used in conjunction with the Pan feature if the mouse has a wheel. Releasing the mouse button and rolling the wheel will cause the object to zoom in the window while in the Pan Mode. The Zoom Rectangle allows the user to select an area to be zoomed with a box generated using the mouse. · When this feature is selected, draw a border or box to be zoomed by depressing the left mouse button and moving the mouse around so the box encompasses the desired zoom area. When the mouse button is released, the drawing will zoom that area.
The fit to window function allows the user to fit the entire drawing selected into the window. · When this symbol is left clicked, the zoom feature will assume the point that allows the entire drawing selected to be displayed in the window. The Print function allows the current view or the full page (A choice is offered in the print window) to be printed when the symbol is left clicked on. (Figure 3)
