Technical Report
ROM UPGRADE .....(6).

1.Model Name: 2.Description:

AR-C172M/BC260, AR-FR23U Upgrade of ICU, PCU, and PCL-ROM (AR-FR23U also include OPE upgrade)
Model Name AR-C172M AR-BC260 AR-FR23U ROM control No. B01 B01 ICU V1.09 V4.07 PCU V1.10 --SCN V1.03 --OPE V1.06 V4.07 BOOT V2.0 --PCL V1.58 V4.58

AR-C172M/BC260: During January 2006 production AR-FR23U: From February 2006 production Item of change: 1. Glitch correction 1. The entire custom form of special size (e.g., 178 mm x 279 mm) is printed in black lines of bar code shape in the traveling direction. This glitch has been corrected. 2. If the object data size is large or multiple overlapping data items are printed when the size of basic memory installed on the printer controller is 128M bytes, a hang-up occurs. This glitch has been corrected. 3. If print data includes many GL commands like Auto CAD, printing speed is extremely slow. This glitch has been corrected. 4. When you log in for user authentication by typing your login name and password and execute Scan To Email, the authenticated user is not authorized as the mail sender. This glitch has been corrected so that the authenticated user is authorized as the sender conforming to the conventional model specifications. 5. During printing in the SAP environment in which the driver is not used, an unnecessary sheet of white paper is ejected or the job is canceled and a sheet of white paper is ejected as the final page. This glitch has been corrected. 6. If the backbone system that does not use the driver prints data that does not contain the end command (UEL command), the printer controller cancels processing without waiting for completion of printing and ejects a blank page. This glitch has been corrected. 7. If printing of the first copy (printing during document read) stops during rotational copy (copy to A4R, BR, an LTR paper) in sort mode from RSPF, small-size document mode (LT-length document and smaller such as A4, B5, and LT), or automatic paper selection mode because no sheet of paper is supplied, the copy image scanned after sheets of paper are supplied may be disordered. This glitch has been corrected. This glitch does not occur during rotational copy from A4R, B5R, or LTR documents to A4, B5, or LT paper.

Items of change: 2. Change of specifications 1. The following changes have been implemented to cope with white stripes. (this change has already been made in CCE-279) 1) When the warming up and printing performance are completed, DV roller is made rotate slightly in reverse by about 1.9mm and the accumulated toner at the pressure contact area between the blade and DV roller in cartridge will be removed. Then toner will be prevented from sticking to blade in toner cartridge. The item "R" has been added to Sim44-4 regarding this function. * The setting of R = 0 (Default) means permission of reverse rotation and the setting of R = 1 means prohibition of reverse rotation. 2) The number of executions of high - density process control will be controlled when the power is put on (includes when the power comes back from auto power shut off) and when the machine has been left with no effect of auto power shut off. The item "Q" has been added to Sim44-4 to set the execution timing of process control. * The setting of Q has been changed to "72" because the setting of Q = 0 (Default) is the same specification of function as before. 2. The print fades before toner near end when data is printed in high concentration, so the number of sheets of paper that can be set before detection of toner near end has been added to the "B" term of SIM26-69. - Current status: Fixed at 1,000 count - After change: 1000/500/250 switching (default: 250)
