Effective today, we will implement several major changes in the management of our Core System
responsibilities. The requirements of other organizations and product programs, in addition to
STAR, make it necessary for us to provide a single focal point for all the technical issues
surrounding Core Systems Architecture and Design. This new position will be the responsibility of
Dr. \V. C. Lynch, who will report directly' to me.
John \Veaver will replace Bill Lynch as Manager, Systems Software. In addition to the Pilot Group.
under Hugh Lauer. and the CIOS Group managed by Jim \Vhite. the Systems Software Section will
now include the t\1esa Group, under lohn Wick. The responsibilities of these groups remain
unchanged.
Peter Heinrich will replace lohn Weaver as tvlanager, Software Operations. In addition to the
Support and Service functions under Dick Sonderegger and Software Test under Gueryn LeCesne.
the Project Co-ordinations function will continue to report to Peter.
