This publication describes the operation
of the I/O supervisor within the IBM Sys-
tem/360 Operating System control program.
The I/O supervisor's components, the EXCP
supervisor and the I/O interruption super-
visor, are discussed in detail to show the
internal structure and logic involved in
the control of I/O devices and channels.
Program Logic Manuals are intended for
use by IBM customer engineers involved in
program maintenance and by system program-
mers involved in altering the program
design. Program logic information is not
necessary for program operation and use;
therefore, distribution of this manual is
limited-to persons with program maintenance
or modification responsibilities.
