Timer Menu
This PVR allows you to set a timer event to record a programme broadcast up to one month in the future

A Timer Event can be created in two ways

1.Through the TV Guide(Up to 7 days)
To access the TV Guide from the Timer Menu press the Green Key(see page 15)

2.Through the Timer Menu(Up to 1 month)
From the Setup Menu select the Timer Menu option and press the Ok key.
If no Timer Events are in the Timer Menu, Position 1 will be selected.
If there are already timer events stored in the Timer Menu, to enter a new Timer Event
press the Red (New)key and the first available position will be selected.
Title / Channel column
A Drop Down list of available channels will appear on screen
Use the cursor keys to select the channel you wish to record and press the OK key
The selected channel will be entered into the Title/Channel column and the highlighted
cursor will move to the Date column.
Date Column
Enter the required date (Up to 1 month in advance) using the cursor keys or the
number keys. A weekly or daily event can also be entered in this column(see page 18).
Press the OK key to store and move the Highlight to the Start Column
Start Column
Enter the Start time using the cursor keys and press the OK key.The Start time can
also be entered directly using the number keys. The highlight will move to the Stop
Column.
Stop Column
Enter the Stop time using the cursor keys and press the OK key.The Stop time can
also be entered directly using the number keys.
Record Column
The Record column allows you to set the target for the recording i.e. where the
recording will be stored. Use the Channel Up/Down keys to choose between the three
available options.

Hard Disk Drive
Recording will be made through AV2 to
an atttached recording device. No
External without Subtitles
Subtitles will be displayed.

External with Subtitles
Subtitles will be displayed if available.


If the External options are selected, remember to set your Recorder timer to match
the required event. If your Recorder supports External Link recording control, the
PVR will automatically control the external device recording. Please refer to your
recording device manual to confirm that it is compatible with this system. The
Timer Event will not be recorded to the HDD.

Once all settings are correct press the Red key to store the timer event.
The symbol will appear on the front panel indicating that a timer event is set.
Set another timer event usng the above method or press the EXIT key to leave the menu.

This PVR contains two tuner units which enables two timer events which overlap to be set.

When a Timer Event Starts
When a timer event is about to start, a warning banner will appear on screen informing the user.
If you wish to cancel the recording, press the EXIT key while this banner is on screen.
The PVR will switch the live feed not being viewed to the correct channel and begin recording. The user can continue
watching the current channel, while the PVR records the second live feed. The REC symbol and the timer event symbol
will appear on the front panel.
If you wish to view the live feed being recorded press the Source key.
If you have programmed two overlapping timer events
When the first timer event starts, an information banner will appear on screen. The live feed not being viewed will switch
to the correct channel and begin recording.
When the second timer event starts, an information banner will appear on screen informing the user. If the Timer Event is
not cancelled while this banner is on screen using the EXIT key, the PVR will change the channel being viewed to the
correct channel and begin recording.
If two recordings are being made you cannot change channel until one of the recordings has stopped. You may
switch between the two channels being recorded using the Source key.
If a timer event is due to start when one live feed is being recorded manually and the other live feed is being
recorded by timer record, a warning will appear on screen. You will need to manually stop one of the recordings
to enable the timer event to start.

Daily and Weekly Recordings

While in the Date column of the Timer Recording Menu, you can select a Daily
and Weekly option to determine how often a recording should be made. This is
useful if you wish to tape the same event at the same time every day or every
week.

Press the Green (Daily) key to access the daily options. Select the desired
option using the cursor keys. Press the OK key to confirm.
Daily Su-Sa
The Timer Event will occur at the same time every day (Sunday to Saturday)
Daily Mo-Sa
The Timer Event will occur at the same time each day (Monday to Saturday)
Daily Mo-Fr
The Timer Event will occur at the same time each day (Monday to Friday).

Press the Yellow (Weekly) key to access the Weekly options. Select the desired
option using the cursor keys and press the OK key.

Weekly (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
The Timer Event will occur at the same time on the same day every week until
cancelled.

Renewal Feature

When using the Daily and Weekly Recordings and the Target is set to HDD, the Timer
Menu allows access to the Renewal feature. The Renewal feature allows you to save
HDD space by replacing the last episode of a daily or weekly event with the latest
episode, only if the last episode has been viewed.
To turn this feature on press the Blue (Renewal) key. This will place the HDD
renewal symbol in the Target column

If the last episode of a timer event has been viewed and the timer event starts
again the last episode will be replaced.
The last episode will not be replaced if it has not been viewed or if the user has
locked the recording. The recording will be made using extra HDD space.

Deleting a Timer Event from the Timer Record Menu

If you wish to delete a timer event, enter the Timer Record Menu, select the relevant timer event and press the Del key.
Confirm that you wish to delete the event by using the OK key or use the EXIT key to cancel the deletion.
Press the EXIT key to leave the menu.

Playback of Recordings (Archive)

To view Archive recordings stored on the HDD, access the Direct Navigator Screen Menu by one of the following steps.
1.Press the Play key on the remote control.
If no recordings have been viewed, pressing the Play key will access the Direct Navigator Screen.
If a recording has been viewed but stopped before it's end, pressing the Play key will resume playback of that
recording.
If a Recording has been viewed entirely and has automatically stopped, pressing the Play key will access the Direct
Navigator Screen
2.Press the Direct Navigator key on the Remote Control
3.Access the Disk manager contents option through the Setup menu and select Show Contents.
Use the cursor keys to select the recording you wish to view and press the OK key.
This will switch the preview window to the selected recording
Press the OK key or Play key to switch the recording in the preview window to full screen viewing.
If you wish to stop a recording, press the Stop key.
To resume watching the recording, press the Play key.
To switch to a different recording, press the Direct Navigator key and select the desired recording from the available list.
Fast Forward key
To fast forward through a recording press the Fast Forward key on the remote control or on the front panel.
Press the Fast Forward key again to increase the fast forward speed in pre-defined steps. The fast forward speed
selected is displayed in the top left hand corner of the screen and on the front panel. The fast forward speeds available
are:
X3, X12, X24, X60 and X120
Pressing the Rewind key in Fast Forward mode will reduce the Fast Forward Speed by one step
Rewind
To rewind backwards through a recording press the Rewind key on the remote control or on the front panel.
Press the Rewind key again to increase the rewind speed in pre-defined steps. The rewind speed selected is displayed
in the top left hand corner of the screen and on the front panel. The rewind speeds available are:
X3, X12, X24, X60 and X120
Pressing the Fast Forward key in Rewind mode will reduce the Rewind Speed by one step
Pause
To pause playback of a recording press the Pause key on the remote control.
To resume playback of the recording press the Play key on the remote control.
