DETAIL: Regarding the subject models, we altered the firmware so that the unit is conformable to the standard, since the PROGRESSIVE Reproduction upon using PAL Disc was standardized. The firmware before the alteration is also conforming to the standard, in its hidden mode. Therefore, we will inform you of procedures for turning on the hidden mode. 4. PROCEDURES TO CHANGE THE OLD FIRMWARE SO THAT IT IS CONFORMABLE TO THE STANDARD: 1Where STOP+ + PAUSE keys are pressed simultaneously, AC SW is turned ON, and three keys are pressed until "LOADING" is displayed on FL tube. 2)After the"POWER- ON"keys, (track skip)+PAUSE+SUPER AUDIO CD SET UP should be pushed simultaneously. This mean that keys SUPER AUDIO CD SETUP PAUSE should be pushed in order within 0.5 second and all these 3keys are being maintained to be pushed completely. An indication as "V.S.S" on FL display then appears. Note: When "V.S.S" is not displayed, please implement again from 1). After the above setting, the PAL Progressive mode is not canceled regardless of "ON/OFF" of the Power. The mode can be canceled when the initialization is performed. (i.e., when "PLAY"+ I" and "OPEN/CLOSE" buttons are pressed simultaneously.) 5. VERSIONS OF THE NEW FIRMWARE: · PANEL: 6236h, back-END: 6237K (The Versions appear when the " button is pressed during the Heat-run mode.) 6. Top Cover (1) Remove 10 screws on the top and both sides, and 2 screws on the rear. (2) Widen the Top Cover a little laterally, then detach it with sliding in the arrow direction. 2. Loader Panel, Front Panel 2.1. When the Disc Tray can be ejected electrically (1) After removing the Top Cover, proceed as follows. (2) Plug the power cord to the wall outlet, switch on the pow- er, and press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button to open the Disc Tray. (3) Detach the Loader Panel by lifting it in the arrow direc- tion. (6) Remove 4 top screws and 4 bottom screws, then detach the Front Panel to the arrow direction. (7) Disconnect the FFC (CX171) connecting the Front Pan- el's P.W.B. and the main P.W.B. in the Chassis. 3 DVD-2900 4 2.2. When the Disc Tray cannot be ejected electri- cally (1) After removing the Top Cover, proceed as follows. (2) Insert a screwdriver(-) into the left hole of the Mecha. Fix Bracket, and push the Plate Gear of the DVD Mecha. slowly to open the Disc Tray. (3) Remove the Loader Panel, and close the Disc Tray. (4) Detach the Front Panel following the same steps de- scribed on the previous page 1. |
