It is GSM power class 4 transceiver providing 11 power levels at a maximum power of 2 W. The transceiver consists of three modules: system module, user interface module and mechanics. The plugin SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card reader is located inside the phone. Functional Description The transceiver electronics consist of radio module (system + RF blocks) and UIF module. UIF module is connected to radio module with a connector. System blocks and RF blocks are interconnected with PCB wirings. Transceiver can be connected to accessories with a bottom system connector, which includes charging and accessory control. The system blocks provides MCU and DSP environments, logic control IC (ASIC), memories, audio processing and RF control hardware (RFI). On board power supply circuitry delivers operating voltage for both system and RF blocks. The micro controller unit, Hitachi H8/536, communicates with DSP, memories and logic control IC (ASIC/D2CA) with 8 bit data bus. RF block is designed for a handportable phone; which operates in GSM system. Purpose of the RF block is to receive and demodulate radio frequency signal from the base station and to transmit a modulated RF signal to the base station. The GR8 module carries out all the system and RF functions of the tranceiver. System module GR8 is designed for a handportable phone, that operate in GSM system. Technical Section All functional blocks of the system module are mounted on a single multi layer printed circuit board. The chassis of the radio unit has separating walls for baseband and RF. All components of the baseband section are surface mountable. They are soldered using reflow. The connections to accessories are taken through the bottom connector of the radio unit. The connections to the User Interface module (UIF) are fed through a flex connector. There is no physical connector between the RF and baseband sections. WARNINGS The maximum battery voltage during the transmission should not exceed 8.0 V. Higher battery voltages may destroy the power amplifier. This will be quaranteed by hardware based limiting which has maximum value 7.6 ±0.3 V. The charger is provided with LED charging indication. Technical Summary States of Charge and Charge Control The LCH2 cigarette lighter charger is used for charging a handportable phone from a car battery. A constantcurrent or constantvoltage output is provided depending on the operating state of the phone. Charge current is supplied through a series switch transistor located in the phone. When the transistor is on the charger supplies a constant current to the phone. The phone is then in the rapid charge mode. When the transistor is off no current is supplied to the phone and the charger | ||

The main function of the MBH8 is to secure the phone firmly in the car and provide a basis for the connection of signals between the phone and the accessories. It connects handportable to junction box, booster and mobile antenna. MCH8 Technical Summary HF operations are possible when transceiver is installed into the mobile base with the HFJ3 junction box. The battery of te transceiver can be charged via the mobile base. Original 50/96 Page 3 After Sales Mobile Base MCH8 Technical Documentation Technical Specification Modes of Operation When handportable is in the MCH8 holder unit audio signals turn to junction box and rf signal to booster or mobile antenna. Also battery of handportable is charged by junction box through MCH8. External Signals and Connections Mobile base module DH1 has two external connectors, the handportable connector X101 and the junction box connector X102.
