WHAT IS PANATEST? PanaTest - the program for read/write codes from/to Panasonic DV Cam memory. If you know right codes and addresses you can enable DV in. CAMS AND CODES Some codes are known: (I get confirm about enabling all of these cam) Address F8 / F7 / 30 NV-DA1 Codes En 62 / 00 / EF Codes Dis 62 / 18 / FF DS 33 Codes En 72 / 01 / 23 Codes Dis 72 / 19 / 33 EX 1 Codes En 82 / 01 / 23 Codes Dis 82 / 19 / 33 DX 100 Codes En A2 / 00 Codes Dis A2 / 18 DS 5 Codes En B2 / 00 Codes Dis B2 / 18 DS 1 Codes En C2 / A0 Codes Dis C2 / B8 DS 77 Codes En 42 / 01 / 23 Codes Dis 42 / 19 / 33 or Codes En 42 / 81 / 23 Codes Dis 42 / 99 / 33 For newer cams (as DS99, DS11, DS8, ...) read dvin.htm. You can find last info and codes on http://www.volny.cz/mkrejcik. WHAT DO YOU NEED? PC - Windows 95/98 (some reports that Windows NT and VirtualPC are working with PanaTest) free serial port Panasonic DVC still capture cable (how to make - http://www.cis.tu-graz.ac.at/wb/dvin/panautil.htm) HOW CAN I ENABLE (DISABLE) DVIN? 1> Connect PC and DVC, turn DVC on and switch to VCR mode. Run PanaTest. 2> Check Com port and click on Read button. 3> You should see: 1st line - Page 0 (1st column), address F8 (2nd column) and its code (3rd column), this can be used for identification DVC (62 is DA1 and so on - only for older types). 2nd line - Page 0 (1st column), address F7 (2nd column - address field) and its code (3rd column - read code field), this says you if DV in enable or disable (look table above - only for older types). If the connection is wrong, you'll see message box and XX in code fields. 4> If you have older type of cam continue at 5>. For newer cams: At first you have to read code from address and page, which you want to change. Put right No of Page (only 0 or 1), address (DD or 97) and click on button Read. 5> If you know right code, put it in field above Write button (4th column - written code field) and you can write it to indicated Page and Address (at 2nd line) by clicking on Write button. Use only capital characters (A, B, C, D, E, F) or digits (0..9). If you put wrong character (for e.g. ff, b8, ...), you'll get warning message and non code is written to cam. Allways note address and code before and after writing! After succesfully writing to cam you'll see written code in read code field. 6> Some models need to change another code of address (30 for older cams): Click on address on 2nd line (F7 in the case of older type), delete it and put desired address (30 for older cams) in address field. Click on Read button. Note the code. Put right code (table above) in written code field and click Write. 7> If you are finished, turn DVC off for no less then 5 sec. WARNING!!! Be carefull. If you
