New in this edition is information about modulo 128 operation, including a new command-SNRME (Set Normal Response Mode Extended). Changes related to modulo 128 operation are marked by a vertical line to the left of the change. This edition also includes other minor editorial changes and updates to terminology throughout; these changes are not marked by vertical lines. This edition omits the former Appendix C, "SDLC Commands and Responses: Acronym Update." The information it provided now appears in the present Appendix C (formerly Appendix D). From time to time, changes are made to the information in I BM systems publications.
