1.0 INTRODUCTION
The information given in this installation guide is of general nature for the local authorized electrical installer. By the installation also national and local electrical regulations have to be adhered to.
2.0 UNPACKING
1. 2. 3. 4. Lift off the cardboard box. Unscrew the wooden parts on the bottom front and rear side of the system. Remove the wooden parts bolted to the socket. The wholes in the socket can be used if the system must be bolted to the floor. Transport the system to the installation site by lifting underneath by means of a fork lift.
3.0 PLACING
The system is designed with all parts accessible from front, and cable entries from bottom. The system can be placed close to walls, only free space for front door opening has to be ensured. Sufficient cooling has to be ensured by a free space of min. 500mm above the ventilation slots in the top cover. Avoid to place the system to direct exposure of sunlight.

The lamp "UPS STATIC BYPASS ON" on the switchgear will switch on. Switch the external bypass switch on the switchgear into bypass position. Switch off the output switch "Qo". Switch off the UPS, as described in section 7.0. Remove the mains fuse(s) "Fm" (and "Fam" if mounted). Switch off F1 (MCB) and discharge the internal capasitor bank.
EMERGENCY: "In case of no output power from the DP3000, disregard above and switch off the output switch "Qo". Then switch the external bypass switch into bypass position".
2. -
Switching the UPS back from maintenance / service Insert the mains fuse "Fm" (and "Fam" if mounted) Switch on the UPS, as described in section 5.0. Check the UPS (output voltage etc.). All systems are OK! Switch the UPS into bypass operation by means of the display, as described in section 6.3. The lamp "UPS STATIC BYPASS ON" on the switchgear will switch on. Switch on the output switch "Qo". Switch the external bypass switch on the switchgear into normal position. Switch the UPS into normal operation (bypass off), as described in section 6.3.

8.0 COMMUNICATION INTERFACE (Option)
8.1 Introduction The communication interface - having 3 ports - is used when an interaction between UPS and e.g. a computer system has to be established. The main purpose is to ensure a controlled shut down of the computer in case of failures in the mains power supply. Normally the simple contact signals from port X005 is used but serial communication can also be performed via the two serial ports X003 and X004. (Protocol available on request). Also a remote monitoring can be established up to 400 m distance via the 20mA current loop from X004. Remote display unit is available as accessory. 8.2 Connections / facilities

9.0 PARALLEL BOARD (Option)
1 Introduction The parallel board establishes the possibility to connect two or more systems in parallel - either to obtain increased security or to obtain higher total output power. Among other functions the parallel board ensures a correct load sharing between the parallel connected systems.
2.
Control cables The external multicable is terminated with a 15 pin SUB-D male plug in both end. Pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2 and so on up to pin 15 - except pin 8 which is not connected. Shield is connected to plug cover but only in one end - the other end is isolated. 1 pcs. 7m 14 wire multicable is supplied with each parallel unit. Power cables To optimise load sharing in parallel operation the external power circuits must be "symetrical" i.e. power input cables must have same lengths and cross-sections and the same for output and battery cables.

INSTRUCTION FOR DP3000 - SWITCHGEAR
1. Switching the system into maintenance / service Switch the system into bypass operation by means of the display, (if not already in bypass). In parallel systems this is done by switching one of the UPS's into bypass operation as described in section 6.3 then all the UPS's will switch into bypass operation. The lamp "UPS STATIC BYPASS ON" on the switchgear will switch on. Switch the external bypass switch on the switchgear into bypass position. Switch off the output switch(es) "Qo". Switch off the UPS's - one by one -, as described in section 7.0. Remove the mains fuses "Fm" (and "Fam" if mounted). Switch off F1 (MCB) and discharge the internal capasitor bank.
-
EMERGENCY: "In case of no output power from the parallel system, disregard above and switch off the output switches "Qo". Then switch the external bypass switch into bypass position".
2. -
Switching the system back from maintenance / service Insert the mains fuses "Fm" (and "Fam" if mounted) Switch on the UPS's - one by one -, as described in section 5.0. Check the UPS (output voltage etc.). All systems are OK! Switch the system into bypass operation by means of the display, as described above. The lamp "UPS STATIC BYPASS ON" on the switchgear will switch on. Switch on the output switch(es) "Qo". Switch the external bypass switch on the switchgear into normal position. Switch the system into normal operation. This is done by switching one UPS into normal operation (bypass off) as described in section 6.3 (must be the UPS that was used to switch the system into bypass operation).

14. TEMPERATURE COMPENSATION (Option)
14.1 Introduction The temperature compensation unit enables the UPS to adapt the charging voltage to the battery temperature. This ensures a longer battery lifetime especially if the battery is installed in a site with a varying temperature. 14.2 Installation The temperature compensation unit must be placed close to the UPS batteries so that the measured temperature is the ambient temperature of the batteries. The temperature sensor unit could for example be placed directly between the batteries on a battery shelf. The temperature sensor is connected to the UPS system according to the diagram below, using extension wire to connect the UPS and temperature sensor unit. The length of the extension wire is uncirtical up to 1000m, if a wire of 0.75mm2 or more is used.
